Inflation in Spain is the highest recorded in the last 38 years

Inflation has been fuelled by increases in food, energy, clothing and footwear prices. Specialists already consider that they are facing a new record. The war in Ukraine also contributes its reasons to rising prices.

Spain, alarmed by its inflationary indices. According to the Spanish National Statistics Institute (INE), “the estimated annual inflation of the CPI in July 2022 is 10.8%”.

Analysts know that this record is the highest since 1984 and the reason, according to the body, must be sought in the increase in the price of food, electricity, clothing and footwear, in the framework, of course, of the war in Russia and Ukraine.

Now, if this record were confirmed in a new report on August 12, it would be a new record and an increase of six tenths compared to the month of June, in which inflation stood at 10.2%.

According to the Ministry of Economy, inflation “is a global phenomenon and one of the main consequences of geopolitical tensions”.

This process is generating “a continuous increase in energy prices, especially gas, and also food”, also contributes the EFE agency.
