Novel research reveals that eating grapes reduces the risk of developing dementia

Recent studies published by Dr. John Pezzuto and his team at the University of Western New England showed effects of grape consumption and impacts on health and life expectancy.

According to Radioformulaq, the researchers explained that fruit is mostly beneficial for those living with western diets rich in fats, since they are known to be rich in chemicals that stimulate healthy gut bacteria and lower cholesterol.

Grapes also have a high content of antioxidants that are known to improve health and prevent disease and cancer in humans.

Antioxidants defend cells from damage caused by free radicals inside the body (inflammation, for example) or outside the body, such as pollution, UV rays, or cigarette smoke

Now, the team of researchers discovered that grape antioxidants can protect the brain against the development of dementia by improving the function of neurons or nerve cells.

Reasons to add grapes to your diet
It’s good for your brain: eating grapes helps with your memory as well as having antioxidants present in them that help reduce oxidative stress in the brain and resveratrol, which is present in the skin of grapes, can help reduce the chances of Alzheimer’s disease.
Helps reduce inflammation: Inflammation, especially chronic inflammation, can be the cause of heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and various other health conditions. Grapes are present with vitamin C, vitamin K, polyphenols and anthocyanins, all of which help reduce inflammation in the body and reduce the risks of chronic inflammation.
It is good for blood pressure: Grapes contain high amounts of potassium and low amounts of sodium, which helps reduce blood pressure. Potassium helps dilate blood vessels, which helps keep blood pressure down.
It can cause digestive discomfort. When you eat too many grapes, it can cause gas and swelling due to the fructose present in them. In addition, tannins present in grapes can contribute to digestive discomfort.
