Initial estimates point to a 10% decline in the Italian harvest

Grape production in Italy drops this season 2022

Since mid-August, some areas of Italy are already working on an early harvest and conditioned by the extreme drought that has characterized the vintage. As reported by the agricultural organization Confagricoltura, its polls agree that the 2022 harvest will lead to a general decrease in their volumes of at least 10%, which will be more accentuated where hailstorms have been recorded.

In qualitative terms, they point out that “never before has careful agronomic management of the vineyard been as decisive as this year”. In fact, there is concern about diseases and pathologies of plants.
