Wine exports: Spain returns to invoice more and sell less
July 2022 has been the best July of the historical series in value, as it happened in the months of April, May and June.
Wine sales to other countries reached 264.8 million euros after growing 2.8%. These figures are 7.1 million euros more than in July 2021. By volume, there was a fall of 15 %, equivalent to 32.4 million litres, to 182.6 million litres. And all this, with a generalized revaluation of our products abroad, within a context of inflation, also generalized.
In the first seven months of 2022, Spain exported 1,204.3 million litres of wine (11.6% less) worth 1,700.1 million euros (4% more). There are 157.9 million litres less and 63.6 million euros more than in the same period last year. Only sparkling wine and semi-sparkling wine increased their exports in euros and litres. In value, bulk wines and sparkling wines lead the increase. The ones that fell the most in volume, the bulk wines and the packaged still wines, according to the Spanish Wine Market Observatory.
