China reduces imports of wine
The decision is due to the current high costs and the prospects of continuing to rise.
China reduced its wine imports by 13.3% in volume and 10.4% in value in the first half of 2022, the worst of recent years with 183.7 million liters and 4,745.8 million yuan (about 690 million euros), according to the Spanish Wine Market Observatory (OeMv).
All wine categories rose in price much more than the average, but the overall price rose slightly (+3.3%) due to the better evolution of bulk, wine more economical than the rest and unique that grew compared to the first half of 2021.
Chilean wine in China
Chile (+26.2%) broke with the global fall in volume and distanced itself from France (-21.2%) as the leading supplier. He was the only one to grow alongside Georgia and Germany in the top 12. However, France’s first place in value is very clear. Spain fell by about 30%.
